Tools and credentials

Connected diagnosis is a software job as much as a hardware job. This is what a shop needs on the bench and on the phone before the method in Module 0 can be applied.

Measurement and access

  • Multimeter with ohms, AC volts and continuity
  • Nut driver and screwdriver set for consoles and rear panels
  • Lockout/tagout kit, or a clear and safe route to unplug
  • Thermometer for measured cabinet and freezer temperature
  • Plate light and phone camera for model and serial capture

Brand software access

  • GE SmartHQ (owner) and SmartHQ Service plus the service module (technician)
  • GE Software Update Module, part WH98R23015001 (TL27), for the models it is published for
  • LG ThinQ (owner) and LGSC through CSportal / LGrepair.com/apps (technician)
  • Official LG Download Jig / software rewriter, with its image obtained from LGSC
  • Samsung SmartThings, plus authorised service escalation for service images
  • Whirlpool group service diagnostics per model tech sheet, and the brand app

SmartHQ Service, LGSC and Samsung service images require proper OEM or shop credentials. Without them, the honest answer to the customer is that the software path needs authorised service.

Documentation

  • Model-specific tech sheet for every machine you open
  • Current bulletin access for the brands you service
  • A ticket format with room for four version numbers, twice β€” before and after

FixGrid does not host, mirror or redistribute OEM firmware binaries, and this track never teaches phone flashing tools on appliances.
